Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep equipment, machinery, and facility systems operating safely and efficiently at our California site. You will perform preventive, corrective, and continuous improvement maintenance across building systems.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Pay is $38.00–$41.00 per hour, based on experience, with ABM’s comprehensive benefits package. Proficiency with CMMS and reading schematics is important for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or vocational training preferred.
• 1–5+ years of maintenance or technician experience in a similar environment.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and basic plumbing systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Basic computer skills; CMMS experience a plus.
• EPA, HVAC, electrical, or industrial maintenance certifications.
• Experience in manufacturing / warehouse / facilities / property management environment.
• Welding, fabrication, or PLC knowledge.
• Forklift, scissor lift, or boom lift certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on equipment, machinery, and building systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Complete work orders accurately and timely using a maintenance management system (CMMS), if applicable.
• Conduct inspections to identify safety hazards and maintenance needs.
• Repair or replace faulty components, parts, and systems.
• Support facility upkeep including lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and structural repairs as needed.
• Follow safety procedures, OSHA standards, and company policies.
• Assist with installation, modification, or upgrades of equipment and systems.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors when necessary.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
