Job summary

Reader Precision Solutions is hiring a CNC Milling Setup Technician to lead machine setups, prove-outs, and program edits. You will troubleshoot, optimize processes, and work with Engineering to implement improvements. The role emphasizes training operators and maintaining quality throughout production runs.

The position is full-time, on site in a manufacturing environment, with standard 6:30 AM–3:00 PM hours and potential overtime as needed. A strong safety mindset and accuracy are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years CNC milling setup experience in a manufacturing environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or CNC certifications preferred.
• Proficient in CNC milling machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, and program editing.
• Experience with part and program prove-outs, process optimization, and cycle time improvements.
• Strong troubleshooting skills involving tooling, fixturing, machine performance, and machining processes.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines per drawings and specs.
• Conduct complete machine setups including tooling, workholding, fixture alignment, and program loading.
• Perform first-piece inspections and prove-outs to ensure quality and production standards.
• Edit, optimize, and troubleshoot CNC programs to improve quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Engineering to validate programs and tooling strategies.
• Provide training and mentorship to machine operators on operation, inspection, and safety.
• Maintain records of setups, tool changes, prove-outs, and quality results.
• Keep machines, tooling, and fixtures clean and in good condition.
