Job summary

The Johns Hopkins Hospital seeks a Clinical Lead Laboratory Technician to manage the daily operations of the assigned laboratory area, supervise staff, and perform phlebotomy with direct patient contact. You will ensure accurate data review, processing, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have a solid phlebotomy background, leadership experience, and a commitment to quality assurance. This full-time role requires day shift availability at our Lutherville location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; biology/chemistry/mathematics coursework recommended.
• Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program is highly desirable.
• ASCP-PBT or equivalent certification eligibility required/preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee organization and daily operation of the assigned lab area, including scheduling, time verification, quality control, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
• Perform specimen collection/phlebotomy and direct patient contact as a hands-on lead.
• Train new staff and evaluate competency; may supervise Lab Tech I/II or Phlebotomy staff.
