Responsibilities

• Patient Care
• Prepares unit and patient room and bed; accompanies patients during admission, transfer, and discharge with compassion.
• Takes and records patient temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and intake-output; reports changes to staff.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bed bath, oral hygiene, shaving, dressing, back rubs, linen refreshment); provides general care.
• Prepares patients for meals, serves food, and feeds patients when needed with compassion.
• Transports patients to/from designated areas; ensures identification bracelets.
• Retrieves medications from the pneumatic tube system and delivers to nurse or stores per nurse manager.
• Maintains safe, clean environment and supports room cleanliness, ventilation, lighting, and patient safety.
• Provides input for end-of-shift reports and CIS documentation; participates in unit quality assurance.
• Utilizes equipment, supplies, facilities, and resources efficiently to support operations.
• Strives to improve performance through staff education and training.
• Assists physicians with examinations, treatments, and tests; collects specimens and transports to lab.
• Runs inter-departmental errands for nursing staff.
• Other Duties as Assigned.
