Job summary

Hancock Regional Hospital is seeking a Building Service Maintenance Specialist I to perform maintenance, repairs, and installation of equipment across hospital facilities. The role requires following instructions, using hand and power tools, climbing ladders up to 25 feet, and standing/walking a majority of the day.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of trade school or equivalent experience in mechanical, plumbing, electrical systems, plus carpentry skills.

Qualifications

• Requires 1 year of trade school or complete working knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, electrical systems, as well as carpentry skills.
• Mandatory Annual Continuing Education: Customer Service, Fire and Safety, Confidentiality-HIPAA, Infection Control, Corporate Compliance.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains equipment using hand tools, power tools and testing equipment.
• Observes machinery in operation to locate causes of trouble.
• Repairs, assembles, and installs equipment; replaces defective parts to ensure proper functioning.
• Monitors the functioning of equipment and reports emergencies to supervisor or director.
