Job summary

RISE Life Services in Huntington, NY is seeking a Day Program Specialist to support participants in our Day Habilitation Program at the Huntington Art Center. Under supervision, you will help individuals develop independence and community integration through structured activities.

You will teach life skills, safety, communication, budgeting, and socialization, document progress daily, and collaborate with the team to provide a safe, respectful, and empowering environment.

• Assists and instructs individuals to promote independence and community integration.
• Teaches life skills to individuals to foster self-worth and accomplishment.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and respectful environment.
• Documents progress and completes required forms accurately and timely.

Responsibilities

• Assist, supervise, support, and instruct individuals to promote independence and integration into their community.
• Teach skills to assist the individuals we serve, achieve a sense of accomplishment and self-worth in the areas of Life Safety, Communication, Cooking, budgeting & shopping, Money Management, Socialization, and Recreation.
• Provide safe transportation to and from day program and community outings.
• Work as a team member with supervisors and co-workers; follow instructions and maintain accountability.
