Job summary

Jewish Family & Children's Service (JF&CS) in Waltham is seeking a Day Program Instructor/Coordinator to lead sessions teaching life, hobby, recreational, and communication skills to adults with developmental disabilities.

No experience is required—we will train you! You will manage a caseload of about 6 participants, coordinate with families, and document goals. A valid driver’s license and several years of safe driving, plus a program-owned vehicle, support transportation needs.

  • Willingness to learn teaching skills.
  • A valid driver's license, several years' safe driving experience, and a reliable, insured vehicle.

The Day Program Instructor/Coordinator is a role for a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated person who wants to make a difference in the lives of program participants.

This position is great for someone with work, volunteer, or lived experience, OR who is eager to enter the field and learn. NO experience needed, we will train you!

Our CHAI Works Day Program fosters community, understanding, and personal fulfillment in individuals with disabilities to help them lead productive and integrated lives in their communities and increase their feelings of self-worth and confidence. CHAI Works helps adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities become more independent, pursue individual goals, and experience the gratification of meaningful, productive activity.

Participants enjoy an array of educational, recreational, and enrichment experiences. They take part in health and wellness activities and a variety of lifelong learning classes. Together with staff, they volunteer each week at local nonprofits where they develop job skills, soft skills, and interests.
