Job description

Do you like keeping areas tidy and clean? Consider a day porter job substituting for the current porter. This is the perfect position for someone retired and looking to pick up 2-4 days a month if not more. The school is open Monday thru Friday 9-4pm with a 30 minute lunch.

Job Description

Specific functions include (but not limited to):

• Sweep, mop and vacuum multiple floor surfaces using industrial vacuums (including back-pack style vacuums) and mops
• Occasionally use ladders to reach higher areas to dust/clean
• Move boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas; remove stains from surfaces using chemicals and cleaning solutions
• May also sweep walkways or perform other seasonal tasks
• Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms
• Cleans sinks, countertops, microwaves and refrigerators in break rooms
• Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms and common areas
• Empty all trash cans, replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary
• Dust and clean office desks and furniture
• Proper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals
• Wear proper personal protective equipment at all times
• Maintain janitor closet in a clean, organized and safe manner
