Job summary

CCS Facility Services is seeking a Day Porter to maintain clean and orderly common areas in office buildings and other facilities in the Atchison, KS area. This role involves routine cleaning tasks to ensure a welcoming environment for tenants and visitors.

Responsibilities include spot cleaning, vacuuming, restroom checks, trash removal, and reporting maintenance needs to management. The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, and safety-minded, with the ability to follow instructions and work

• Reliable, punctual, and able to perform cleaning duties in commercial buildings.
• Adheres to safety procedures and uses equipment properly.
• Works with minimal supervision and follows management directions.

Responsibilities

• Spot clean lobby glass doors.
• Vacuum elevator cabs and wipe doors, walls, and tops.
• Inspect the building exterior and pick up trash.
• Check restrooms twice daily and empty trash receptacles.
• Sweep entrances and dust mopped lobby floors twice daily.
• Polish elevator cab railings and doors and assist building Engineer.

Job Details

A Day porter is responsible for maintaining common areas of office buildings, apartment houses, or other commercial or institutional buildings in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Spot clean the lobby glass doors
• Polish chrome on lobby doors
• Vacuum elevator cabs and wipe cab doors, walls, and tops twice a day
• Inspect the building exterior and pick up any trash
• Clean ashtrays and sand urns on every floor
• Empty and clean exterior trash receptacles
• Check restrooms twice daily
• Vacuum lobby once a day or as needed
• Sweep stairwells and landings as needed
• Remove all debris from landscaped areas as needed
• Sweep building entrances
• Clean and remove smudges and marks on walls, doors, and wall covering
• Report any lights out (exit, directory boards, etc.) to the Management Office
• Report any solicitors to the Management Office
• Where applicable, police lobby to keep floors and planters free of paper, debris, etc.
• Policing should be scheduled at high-traffic times each day.
• Empty all trash receptacles
• Vacuum carpeted floors
• Dust mop lobby floors twice daily
• Polish elevator cab railings and doors and main lobby call buttons
• Assist building Engineer daily per Management discretion
