Job summary

Harvard Maintenance is seeking a dependable janitorial assistant to maintain clean facilities across sites in Minneapolis. The role focuses on basic cleaning, restroom sanitization, waste disposal, and floor care, with emphasis on safety and reliability, and the ability to work independently when needed.

Qualifications

• 1 year of basic cleaning experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills required.
• Reliable transportation to sites.
• Must be able to perform bending, kneeling, lifting and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize and restock restrooms, break rooms and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum floors and operate cleaning equipment.
• Empty trash and dispose of waste properly.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to management.

A day in the life

• Responsible for all basic cleaning
• Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms, break rooms, and common areas
• Empty trash and recycling bins, and dispose of waste properly
• Cleaning includes sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors in all areas
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, and vacuums
• Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management
• Performs additional duties as required, including attending to flooded areas, incidental spills, and related clean-up work for trash and restroom concerns
• Minimum of 1 year experience preferred
• Strong communication skills
• Reliable transportation to and from work sites
• Must be willing to work assigned hours
• Capable of performing the physical demands of the job, including bending, kneeling, carrying, lifting, reaching, and standing for extended periods
