Job summary

Macs Facility Solutions is seeking a dependable Day Porter/Cleaner to support daily cleaning in a Philadelphia school. This on-site role focuses on classrooms, restrooms, and common areas to create a welcoming learning environment.

You will clean, restock supplies, respond to spills, and communicate in English and Spanish with staff and the Macs team, following safety procedures and schedules Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Bilingual ability in English and Spanish required.
• Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred.
• School or educational facility cleaning experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, orderly, and presentable classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, cafeterias, and shared spaces.
• Perform routine cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing surfaces, and emptying trash and recycling.
• Monitor high-traffic areas and respond promptly to spills, messes, and other cleaning needs.
• Restock restroom and cleaning supplies as needed.
• Follow site procedures for safe use, storage, and handling of cleaning products and equipment.
• Communicate professionally in English and Spanish with school staff, and the Macs Facility Solutions team.
• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or supply needs to the appropriate supervisor.

• Reliable attendance and availability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
• Strong attention to detail, good judgment, and a service-focused attitude.
• Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and manage changing priorities during the school day.
• Ability to perform the routine physical activities associated with custodial work and use standard cleaning equipment safely.
