Tekni Plex in Van Wert, OH is seeking an experienced Day & Night Shift Supervisor to lead front-line production teams in a start-up molded pulp operation producing egg cartons. You will model safe practices, drive daily performance, and partner with HR and plant leadership to recruit, train, and develop crew for molding, pulping and printing equipment.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years as a shift supervisor in manufacturing, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a servant leadership

Qualifications

Day & Night Shift Supervisor – Experience in MFG

Summary

The Van Wert, OH Fiber plant is a part of the Consumer Products Division of a global leader in Consumer Products & Healthcare solutions. The SHIFT SUPERVISOR will be primarily responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the front line employees. Ensures a safe working environment through modeling safe behaviors, leading audits/inspections, correcting unsafe behaviors, conducting safety meetings, and utilizing proper work methods, procedures and equipment. Provides direct supervision to production employees. In this start-up Mfg location, the SHIFT SUPERVISOR will actively partner with HR & Operations leaders to hire & train crew members to operate Molding, Pulping, and Printing equipment in the manufacturing of molded pulp egg cartons. The Van Wert Fiber location will be a manufacturer of molded pulp consumer products; primarily egg cartons. Key Accountabilities

Directly supervise, coach, mentor, & develop production crew, driving & adhering to a “We Grow People” approach to training/growth/development.

Encourage open dialogue and sharing of ideas – recognize & reward teams for innovative ideas. • Optimize Our Work: Observe/evaluate concerns and opportunities in processes, procedures and/or systems. Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of crew employees; ensures their ability to SAFELY operate equipment to produce product; cross-training team members to effectively/efficiently operate variety of equipment across the factory floor. Develops & mentors shift LEAD to effectively oversee the daily routines of their assigned crew.
• Win as a Team: Collaborates with other team members in all departments and across all levels of the plant team to develop and install methods, improvements and cost saving ideas.
• Drive Customer Satisfaction: Works closely with the Plant Manager & Production Manager to drive plant standards, procedures and program plans for achieving and maintaining the required level of product quality.

Experience

Position Requirements:

• Requires a minimum of 5 or more years previous Shift Supervisor experience
• Minimum of 5 years experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment
• Strong verbal/written communication skills as well as interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are critical for excelling in this position.
• Servant Leadership style
• Must be willing/able to eventually transition from 8-hour shift to 12-hour overnight shift as location gradually becomes fully operational over the next several months.

Ideal Candidate Will Possess

• Molded Pulp foodservice mfg experience preferred
• Certification, or willingness to become certified in the following: CPR and first-aid, Six Sigma
• Self-directed approach to work & prioritization.
• Recruiting/Interviewing/Hire Selection experience a huge plus
• Bilingual abilities are a bonus
