Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of employment.
• One year of nursing experience; psychiatric/behavioral experience is a plus.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire).

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about conditions.
• Provide nursing care within the standards and scope of nursing practice as defined by state regulations and policies.
• Administer medications per orders and document controlled substance counts.
• Complete admission and discharge processing accurately.
• Exhibit therapeutic rapport while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Coordinate unit activities and communicate with staff and patients.
