Sweeping Corporation of America in Columbia, SC is seeking a Day Landscaper for the 1st shift. This full-time role maintains lawns, gardens, and outdoor spaces to keep properties healthy, attractive, and functional, with safe operation of landscaping equipment.

You will own assigned areas, follow safety procedures, and communicate effectively with team members and clients. We offer weekly pay, benefits, and a culture focused on safety and growth.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED.
• Experience: 1 year driving experience preferred.
• License: Driver’s License.
• Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Compliance: Must pass MVR check, background check, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Safety & Inspection: Pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment; safety features operational.
• Execution: Review routes; complete jobs within allotted time; maintain quality.
• Equipment Operation: Operate landscaping equipment safely and legally.
• Material Handling: Safely handle materials and disposal as required.
• Reporting: Report issues within 30 minutes; escalate safety concerns.
• Professional Communication: Maintain professional appearance and communicate with team/clients.
• Compliance & Documentation: Complete logs, manifests, and forms.
• Adaptability & Problem Solving: Respond to changes; solve issues timely.
• Regular & Predictable Attendance: Be on time and prepared for shifts.

Your daily impact: As our next Landscaper, you'llbe at the heart of our mission—delivering essential services that help improve public safetyandenhance environmental quality. In this role, you’ll maintain and enhance lawns, gardens, and other landscaped areas to ensure properties remain healthy, attractive, and functional. You'll take ownership of assigned work areas, operate landscaping equipment safely and effectively, and help maintain outdoor spaces that support the appearance, safety, and overall quality of our customers' properties.

The job responsibilities below outline the core duties and expectations of a position, providing clarity on how the role supports Company goals. • Safety & Inspection: Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment in accordance with company standards. Ensure all safety features are operational before beginning route.
• Execution: Review assigned routes thoroughly prior to departure. Be proactive in asking clarifying questions if the route or expectations are unclear. Complete assigned jobs within the allotted timeframe while maintaining expected quality and attention to detail.
• Equipment Operation: Operate equipment safely and efficiently at all times, following all traffic laws, company safety procedures, and site-specific protocols. Exercise additional caution during inclement weather or challenging site conditions.
• Material Handling: Handle materials safely and securely; Apply correct procedures for material types and disposal sites.
• Reporting: Report any equipment issues, malfunctions, near misses, crashes, or injuries within 30 minutes or as soon as safely possible. Immediately escalation opportunities, work issues, or safety concerns to management.
• Professional Communication: Maintain a professional attitude and appearance while representing the company on job sites or in public areas. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients when needed.
• Compliance & Documentation: Accurately complete required logs, manifests, and forms.
• Adaptability & Problem Solving: Respond appropriately to changes and challenges; identify and solve issues timely.
• Regular & Predictable Attendance: The ability to consistently report to work on time and as scheduled, with minimal unexcused absences. This includes being present and prepared to work throughout assigned shifts, and reliably adhering to start times, breaks, and end times.

• Compliance: Must maintain an acceptable driving record and successfully pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) check, background check, and drug screening in accordance with Company policy and applicable law.

• Work Environment & Exposure: Constant work outdoors with regular exposure to weather, elements, and traffic; occasional exposure to loud noise, dust/debris, and jarring conditions; limited exposure to chemicals.
