Job summary

St. John of God Community Services is seeking a Day Habilitation Specialist to develop and oversee day-to-day activities for clients in vocational, personal, social, and avocational areas, and to provide opportunities for community integration.

You will conduct family education, support, and in-service programs, maintain required paperwork, and communicate with families. The role emphasizes hospitality, respect, quality, spirituality, and responsibility, in line with the agency's core values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associates degree in related field is preferred.
• Prior background in supervision and instruction in vocational or avocational areas.
• Ability to instruct program participants in basic life math skills, such as money management.

Responsibilities

• Assists clients with social and personal issues related to their goal attainment and provides instruction on independent living skills and community inclusion.
• Participates in daily program activities with clients and reinforces goals and objectives.
• Assists clients with basic life skills and personal hygiene.
• Provides personal care assistance to ambulatory and non‑ambulatory clients.
• Records daily client activity for billing.
