Job summary

A community service organization in Plainview is seeking a full-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a 1:1 position during daytime hours. You will support individuals with developmental disabilities by managing routines and assisting with behavioral needs. Applicants should possess a high school diploma, a qualified NYS driver’s license, and ideally six months of relevant experience. Training in behavioral management is necessary. The role offers a supportive environment with a focus on improving participants' quality of life.

Qualifications

• Six months experience supporting people with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Will be expected to complete advanced training upon supervisor’s request (i.e. CPR/ Clinical Training etc.).
• Qualified NYS driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Manage one volunteer in the Day Program ensuring implementation of clinical services plans.
• Assist with behavioral crisis situations within the day program and community.
• Perform routine direct care responsibilities regarding the activity room.
