Job summary

Food Authority, INC in Jessup, MD is seeking experienced CDL A Delivery Drivers. The role covers daily routes, 7:00am to 4:00pm, five days with weekends off, and requires a valid CDL A, DOT medical card, and two years of verifiable driving in the last three years.

You will ensure temperature-controlled product is delivered intact, manage delivery paperwork, and follow DOT regulations. A road test will be conducted before an employment offer; the company offers a sign-on bonus and a comprehensive

Responsibilities

• Load and unload products; ensure products are undamaged.
• Adhere to DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Manage Driver Apprentice/Helper as needed.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.

We’re looking to hire experienced CDL A Delivery Drivers

Shift: 7:00am - 4:00 pm five days a week, with Saturdays and Sundays as scheduled days off, home every day

Location: Jessup, MD

Delivery Driver Qualifications:

• Drivers must be 21 years of age.
• Drivers must have a minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience in the last 3 years.
• Drivers must have a current drivers’ license and current DOT medical card.
• No CDL accidents in the last 36 months (3 years).
• No major violations or suspensions in the last 36 months
• No suspension related to driving performance in the last 36 months (3 years).

Preferred Driver Requirements

• Prior experience delivering from a liftgate.
• Minimum 1 year material handling equipment experience.

Driver Responsibilities:

• Ensure shipment of temperature-controlled and undamaged product, proper
• Count of goods at customer locations, assuring inventory levels are FIFO in the customer locations.
• Management of Driver Apprentice/Helper.
• Drive vehicles to designated destinations for customer product deliveries.
• Drive safely and deliver products within deadlines.
• Load and unload products from trucks or trailers.
• Put product away based on customer specifications.
• Maintain driving log, prepare vehicle performance forms, and complete daily paperwork.
• Follow DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Follow set, scheduled route for daily deliveries.
• Maintain and organize all delivery paperwork and deliver it to the proper personnel at the end of each shift
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspection

Physical requirements:

• The ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly.
• The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
• The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
• The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
• The ability to see well at night and drive in the dark.
