Job summary

The City of Fife is seeking an Assistant Day Camp Director to help plan and deliver Camp Fife programs, train staff, and assist the Camp Director with operations at the Camp Fife facility.

The role requires 18+ age, at least one year in recreation or childcare for ages 6 to 12, strong communication, CPR/First Aid/AED, and a valid WA driver’s license; this is a 40-hour weekly, seasonal full-time position, typically Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Organized and consistent with ability to multitask.
• Ability to supervise and train youth counselors.
• Valid CPR/First Aid/AED certification or ability to obtain during training.
• Possession and maintenance of a WA state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Camp Director with administration, communication and logistics before, during and after each camp session.
• Assist with the supervision, training and development of Camp Counselors.
• Supervise activities ensuring staff and youth participation occurs in a safe manner and environment.
• Communicates feedback between participants, parents, staff and Camp Director.
• Prepares documents such as letters, program evaluation forms, accident reports, daily logs, etc.
• Maintains compliance with all applicable City, County and State laws and City ordinances, policies and procedures at all times.
• Performs facility opening and closing responsibilities.
• Other duties as assigned.
