The San Francisco Chronicle, part of Hearst, offers an arts journalism internship based in the Bay Area through Datebook. You will brainstorm, research, and write on film, music, theater and more, with opportunities to art direct collaborators and coordinate projects.
Open to all college students and recent graduates; training and mentoring will be provided by editors across departments. The internship runs June–August for 12 weeks at 40 hours per week, paid at $20.50 per hour.
The San Francisco Chronicle is seeking to create a pipeline for the next generation of arts journalists. The position will be based with Datebook, our guide to arts, entertainment and culture in the Bay Area covering film, music, theater and more. Your role will require brainstorming, researching and writing, but may also include art directing collaborators and project coordination.
All college students, including community college students or students who will have recently completed their associate or bachelor's degree, are encouraged to apply.
Selected candidates will receive training and mentoring from editors and colleagues across departments.
