Job summary

Protective Life is seeking a DataOps/MLOps Lead to own the platform and operating model for data and ML pipelines on Databricks Lakehouse on Azure. You will set standards, automate the backbone, mentor engineers, and ensure reliability, security, cost, and auditability in a regulated insurance environment.

In this hands-on leadership role, you will drive CI/CD with Azure DevOps, standardize Dagster orchestration, operationalize ingestion with dltHub and dbt, and build observability and FinOps

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data/ ML/ platform engineering or SRE/DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Own the DataOps/MLOps platform and operating model.
• Lead CI/CD standards and pipelines for data pipelines and ML models in Azure DevOps.
• Standardize orchestration on Dagster and ensure run observability.
• Operationalize ingestion and transformation stack with dltHub and dbt.
• Build MLOps foundations with MLflow registry and model serving.
• Establish data and model observability with SLAs/SLOs.
• Administer Databricks Lakehouse on Azure and governance.
• Manage infrastructure as code and environments (Terraform).
• Own reliability and incident practices including on-call and runbooks.
• Drive FinOps cost visibility across compute, storage, and model serving.
• Automate governance and compliance controls for regulated environment.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers.
