Job summary

True Zero Technologies is seeking a senior Datadog Observability Engineer to design, implement, and operate enterprise-grade observability across cloud and on-prem environments. You will lead from the front, delivering end-to-end visibility with Datadog, APM, logs, and synthetic monitoring, while guiding teams and client engagements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in observability, DevOps, SRE, or related field.
• Experience architecting and operating Datadog environments at scale.
• Healthcare/ HIPAA-regulated environment experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end observability using Datadog (infrastructure, APM, logs, RUM, synthetic).
• Build dashboards, SLOs, and intelligent alerting to reduce on-call noise.
• Monitor healthcare apps/infrastructure (EHR/EMR, HL7/FHIR) for uptime and data integrity.
• Configure log pipelines and telemetry ingestion with Datadog Agent/OpenTelemetry.
• Lead incident response, RCA, and post-incident reviews with DevOps teams.
• Integrate observability with ITSM/CI/CD/security tooling.
• Manage Datadog configuration as code (Terraform, API/CLI).
• Optimize Datadog usage, data retention, and cost-efficiency.
• Ensure governance and compliance with HIPAA, NIST SP 800-53, Zero Trust.
• Mentor junior engineers on observability best practices.
