Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Quality Engineer to establish and manage a manufacturing-focused quality program for datacenter infrastructure. You will oversee vendors, drive quality improvements, and coordinate actions with construction, engineering, and operations to ensure timely, high-standard delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in manufacturing quality management, supplier quality engineering, or datacenter engineering/operations.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, construction management, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data, solve problems, and improve manufacturing processes.
• Proven track record delivering for complex projects or supplier programs.
• Strong communication skills with both technical and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead vendor audits and monitor performance to ensure quality across production, inspection, testing, and delivery.
• Develop and track quality metrics to assess manufacturing performance and identify trends.
• Institute corrective actions, root cause analysis, and continuous process improvements.
• Develop and maintain a datacenter-focused manufacturing quality program aligned with global deployment.
• Coordinate cross-functional communication between manufacturing sites, construction teams, and operations.
