Key responsibilities include 24x7/365 datacenter coverage, managing environmental controls, power and safety, as well as IT hardware installation, documentation, and agile DevSecOps collaboration.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required; candidates must meet conditions.
  • Ability to pass federal background check and obtain Public Trust.
  • 1–3 years of experience.
  • Able to lift up to 70 lbs and perform necessary physical work.
  • Must read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Excellent customer service and communications skills.
  • Knowledge of ITIL service operation practices and ITIL v4 foundation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite 24x7/365 rotation coverage and incident response for data center facilities services.
  • Perform cabling, installs, or decommissions, and document status updates.
  • Escort vendors and customers for required work and site visits.
  • Troubleshoot datacenter issues and provide timely updates on resolution.
  • Coordinate IT hardware installation, replacement, and removal activities.
  • Create and maintain documentation for IT hardware and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

An Average Day: As the Datacenter Facilities & Equipment Specialist II you will engage in customer communication about ongoing and upcoming projects as well as perform any device set-up, installs, or decommissions, including completing all necessary documentation and providing status and completion updates. You will also perform cabling tasks as needed, running both copper and fiber connections throughout the Datacenter. As necessary, you will also escort vendors and customers for required work and site visits. In this role you will also perform troubleshooting tasks to remediate issues within the datacenter and provide timely and accurate updates on issues and resolution. Additionally, in this position you will:

Datacenter Facilities Services:

  • Provide onsite 24x7/365 rotation coverage and incident response for data center facilities services.
  • Expertise in modern datacenter facilities operations to include environmental controls, security, safety systems, power, backup power systems, and smart building decision systems.
  • Support performing monthly maintenance on generators with training.
  • Conduct or oversee work on datacenter infrastructure systems.
  • Perform facilities inspections of datacenter infrastructure systems.
  • Clean areas around electrical systems.

Datacenter Equipment Services:

  • Provide onsite 24x7/365 rotation coverage and incident response for data center equipment services.
  • Support in receiving, removing, shipping, cabling, installing, replacing, and maintaining, IT equipment.
  • Support escorting vendors performing needed maintenance.
  • Familiarity with Web Control infrastructure monitoring software.
  • Ability to coordinate, communicate with engineers, and replace IT components in systems as needed.
  • Support determining system and rack level electrical power requirements, hardware placement, installation, move, replacement, and removal activities.
  • Able to create, inventory, and maintain documentation for IT hardware and infrastructure systems.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to appearance and safety standards.
  • Participate in Agile project management and a DevSecOps culture as required.
Qualifications
  • As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C), we will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.
  • Must be able to pass federal background investigation and obtain a Public Trust
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Able to follow instructions, stay on task, and requires little supervision once trained in documented processes.
  • Must be able to lift to 70lbs. This position requires physical work as described below:
    • Work in confined areas such as crawl spaces, attics, utility pits, tunnels, manholes, and other confined spaces
    • Work from heights such as rooftops, ledges, scaffolding, including climbing extension ladders and scaffolding.
    • Move and handle heavy objects such as equipment, tools, and other building materials.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in the English language. All contractor employees must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong time-management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to communicate applicable technical subject matter to management and others.
  • DISC follows the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) service operation best practices.
    • ITIL v4 foundation knowledge.
    • Ability to apply and provide feedback on service operation model and practices.
  • Must be able to present acceptable identification for customer badging and site access, such as a REAL ID compliant driver license, U.S. Passport, or other approved document from the GSA Required Identification List.
