Job description

Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO+I, the Core Datacenter Services (DCS) team is responsible for the development and implementation of global strategies across our Datacenters (DCs).

As a Datacenter Efficiency Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing initiatives launched to our DC Ops Field. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to execute on a portfolio of projects, including the project plan, timelines, milestones, financial management, performance metrics, and/or resource needs for programs with the goal to maximize efficiency and optimization in our Datacenters (DCs).

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Datacenter Efficiency Program Manager to join our dynamic team. The candidate will have a proven track record in managing programs in a complex environment. As a Datacenter Efficiency Program Manager, you will play a key role in executing on plans that will impact our multi-year priorities in the team.

Responsibilities
  • Business Program Excellence and Execution: Maintain the rhythm of business (ROB) during plan execution to ensure participants and stakeholders are communicating and responding according to the necessary cadence.
  • Business Program Excellence and Execution: Independently work across teams to ensure all program requirements are understood and can be met.
  • Business Program Management: Communicates the program status to relevant stakeholders and hold them accountable for following the established schedule, risk mitigation plans and processes, with minimal guidance.
  • Business Program Management: Help develop processes around scope and scheduled changes for programs, and communicate to stakeholders.
  • Business Program Planning and Design: Support and contribute to define and track the success criteria and performance metrics (Objectives and Key Results [OKRs]) for the projects being launched.
  • Risk Management: Understand and identify current program risks, impact, and mitigation plans, in collaboration with others.
Qualifications
  • Required/minimum qualifications:
    Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 4+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of project management experience
  • Background Check Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 8+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement
    • OR equivalent experience.
    • Professional experience in a critical environment (e.g., datacenter, hospital, etc.)
