Job summary

Aimpoint Digital seeks a Databricks Solution Architect to grow Databricks expertise, craft technical content, and guide AI initiatives on the Databricks platform. This fully remote role offers engagement with global clients and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver AI and data solutions.

You will lead technical delivery, contribute to practice growth, and represent the company in Databricks communities and client engagements.

Qualifications

• Degree-educated in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• Strong consulting (7+ years) and communication/presentation skills for technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and remotely in a fast-paced, client-facing setting.
• Passion for deploying AI responsibly within Databricks.
• Deep familiarity with Databricks AI, ML, Engineering and Analytics features.
• 7+ years consulting or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years Databricks solution design, implementation, engineering experience.
• 5+ years building data pipelines in Databricks with PySpark/Scala/Spark SQL or 5+ years ML/AI engineering deploying ML models.
• Hands-on streaming and frontend development experience (e.g., Lakeflow, Databricks Apps).
• Knowledge of Agent Ready Data architectures (Genie, Multi-Agent Orchestration).
• Knowledge of Databricks ML and Gen AI features is required.
• Software engineering/DevOps concepts preferred.
• Terraform deploying and configuring metastores/workspaces on cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) desirable.
• Databricks certificates are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Engage in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex AI, Engineering and Data & Analytics cases on the Databricks platform.
• Serve as a Databricks SME for internal community and external representation.
• Provide technical leadership and hands-on delivery in a consulting role.
• Contribute to Databricks partnership growth in the UK as a technical leader.
• Create and deliver technical content (blogs, webinars, whitepapers, presentations) on Databricks features.
• Build end-to-end demonstrations of Databricks functionality for prospects and enablement.
• Support channel and sales activities with architecture advisory.
• Contribute to development and deployment of Aimpoint products on Databricks.

You will

• Engage in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex AI, Engineering and Data & Analytics cases on the Databricks platform, becoming a trusted advisor to our clients from data owners and analytic users to C-level executives
• Serve as a Databricks subject matter expert for our internal community of technical analytics consultants and as a company ambassador externally
• Provide technical leadership and hands-on delivery on projects in a consulting role
• Contribute to the growth of our partnership with Databricks in the UK as a technical leader
• Create and deliver engaging technical and thought leadership content (e.g., blogs, webinars, whitepapers, presentations) on the latest Databricks features and best practices
• Build and deliver end-to-end technical tool demonstrations of Databricks functionality & interoperability for prospective clients and other enablement
• Support channel and sales activities to provide architecture advisory for prospective clients and projects
• Contribute to the development and deployment of Aimpoint products on the Databricks platform

Requirements

• Degree-educated in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience

• Either 5+ years building data pipelines in Databricks using PySpark, Scala and/or Spark SQL and ability to work across structured, semi-structured and unstructured data OR 5+ years ML Engineering or AI Engineering deploying, promoting and serving ML models, building feature stores, building RAG chatbot or other AI systems
• Hands on, working, experience w. streaming + front end development experience (e.g. Lakeflow + Databricks Apps)
• Hands on, working, knowledge of Agent Ready Data architectures (e.g. Genie, Multi-Agent Orchestration)
• Hands on, working, knowledge of Databricks ML and Gen AI features is required
• Expertise in software engineering or DevOps concepts & best practices is preferred
• Experience in terraform deploying and configuring metastores and workspaces on any cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP) highly desirable
• Any Databricks certificates are highly regarded
• Willingness to travel
