JR Software Solutions Inc. is seeking a Databricks Platform Technical Lead to drive the Data Platform Engineering team for a Federal CDC project in Atlanta, GA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering or Computer Science.
• 10+ years designing data platform solutions and architectural roadmaps with long-term technical viability.
• 5+ years establishing enterprise-wide data platform architecture, frameworks and development standards.
• 5+ years hands-on data engineering, building and managing complex large-scale pipelines and governance models.
• 5+ years managing Databricks account and workspace governance, configuration and security — workspace setup, Unity Catalog, cluster policies and performance tuning.
• Experience building and maintaining pipelines with Lakeflow Designer, Lakeflow Pipelines and Lakeflow Jobs.
• Proficiency with Genie Code and Genie Agents to accelerate engineering and analytics workflows.
• Experience designing autonomous AI agents and managing Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.
• Skill with Databricks SQL tools, including Queries and AI/BI Dashboards.
• Strong Azure data platform knowledge: ADF, ADLS, Databricks, Synapse, Power BI, Key Vault, DevOps, Azure AD and Monitor, plus platform performance optimization.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, development and operations of scalable, high-availability data platform and core platform services in the cloud.
• Direct and oversee the platform team to ensure deliverables meet customer commitments.
• Define and govern data architecture, requirements, standards and technical roadmaps — including complex ETL/ELT pipelines, data movement, orchestration and data governance.
• Administer and optimize enterprise Databricks environments: workspace configuration, Unity Catalog, cluster management, security, performance and cost optimization.
• Oversee SAS Viya administration, including deployment, environment monitoring and user management.
• Design and implement cloud modernization strategies and application architectures built on modern Azure technologies.
• Evaluate alternative architectures and emerging technologies, including AI agents and MCP-enabled solutions, to advance the program’s data engineering and analytical capabilities.
• Partner with solutions, customer success and business teams to resolve technical issues, monitor platform health, manage cost and align platform capabilities with strategic objectives.
