Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Database & Business Systems Engineer in New Orleans, LA to monitor database health and performance, manage data migrations, and optimize integrations across critical business systems.

The role blends database administration, application support, and systems engineering, owning the data side while improving the applications that rely on it. This is an on-site permanent position offering growth and collaboration with IT and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting SQL data environments, business applications, and web-based technology platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven success partnering across departments to deliver technology solutions and support business objectives.
• Strong aptitude for creating and maintaining technical documentation, system procedures, and operational standards.
• Experience analyzing complex technical challenges and implementing practical, scalable solutions.
• Working knowledge of database administration, application support, and system integration best practices.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and support requests in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on system reliability, data integrity, and operational efficiency.
• Demonstrated knowledge of corporate intranet sites, self-service portals and customer-facing web portals
• Demonstrated knowledge of SharePoint sites and .NET web applications

Responsibilities

• Administer data platforms, including SQL Servers and ensure availability, security, and operational reliability across business-critical systems.
• Support and maintain integrated business applications, serving as a technical liaison between software vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Develop and enhance database objects, bulk data migration, index performance, automation routines, and backend data processes to support operational and reporting initiatives.
• Plan and execute data conversion, system migration, and information transfer projects across multiple environments.
• Support applications by coding and implementing stored procedures
• Monitor system utilization and implement performance enhancements to improve application responsiveness and scalability.
• Investigate technical issues impacting applications and data environments, driving resolution through analysis and corrective action plans.
• Maintain business continuity through backup validation, recovery testing, and ongoing database protection strategies.
• Coordinate connectivity and data exchange between web-based applications, integrations, databases, and supporting technologies.
• Administer collaboration and content management platforms, including user provisioning, configuration, and ongoing platform support.
