Job summary

Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) is seeking a Database Engineer at a mid level to contribute to cutting edge development programs and design new solutions. You will innovate RF signal processing applications and provide expert database design, development, and data storage/retrieval guidance.

You will build relational and OO databases, create queries/macros, and help define long-range database administration requirements.

Qualifications

  • Five (5) years experience as a DBE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Four (4) years of additional DBE experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.

  • Translate requirements and data into usable documents by creating or recreating ad hoc queries and scripts.
  • Develop relational and/or OO databases, database parser software, and loading software.

Database Engineer - Mid Level

As a Database Engineer - Mid Level at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A), you will be required to:

  • Contribute to cutting edge development programs and designing new solutions
  • Innovate RF signal processing applications
  • Provides technical expertise for database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis
  • Develop relational and/or Object-Oriented databases, database parser software, and database loading software
  • Project long-range requirements for database administration and design
  • Develop a database structure that fits into the overall architecture of the system under development and has to make trades among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security and domain controls
  • Develop requirements from a project’s inception to its conclusion for a particular business and Information Technology (IT) subject matter area (i.e., simple to complex systems)
  • Assist with recommendations for, and analysis and evaluation of systems improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts
  • Translate a set of requirements and data into a usable document by creating or recreating ad hoc queries, scripts, and macros; updates existing queries, creates new ones to manipulate data into a master file; and builds complex systems using queries, tables, Open Database Connectivity and database storage and retrieval using Cloud methodologies

Experience and Qualifications:

To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:

Required Education and Years of Experience:
  • Five (5) years experience as a DBE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Four (4) years of additional DBE experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree
Required Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance
  • Experience developing requirement recommendations from a project’s inception to its conclusion for a particular Business and IT subject matter area (i.e. simple to complex systems)
  • Experience developing long and short-term requirements for database administration and design

Summary Pay Range:
