Avalore.ai is seeking a Database Engineer to manage and optimize our database systems within the WDP data storage infrastructure. You will design schemas, implement backups, and ensure performance and reliability while collaborating with data engineers on pipelines.
You will implement security controls, monitor health, and contribute to HA/DR strategies, upgrades, and automation, while maintaining documentation and standards.
The Database Engineer will manage and optimize database systems for WDP data storage infrastructure. This person will implement and maintain different data stores, ensure database performance and reliability, and work with data engineers to integrate databases into data pipelines. This person will design and implement database schemas and structures, establish database backup and recovery procedures, and optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and configuration tuning. This person will implement database security controls and access management, monitor database health and resource utilization, and troubleshoot complex database issues. This person will manage database version upgrades and patches, implement database high availability and disaster recovery solutions, and automate routine database administration tasks. This person will evaluate new database technologies for potential adoption, maintain database documentation, and provide database expertise to development teams. This person will develop and enforce database standards and best practices, conduct capacity planning for database growth, and implement database monitoring and alerting systems.
