Job summary

Luxoft is seeking a seasoned database migration specialist to lead Sybase to Oracle conversions for major financial institutions. You will own the migration workstream, plan activities, drive issue resolution, and deliver successful cutovers.

You bring hands-on experience with Sybase-to-Oracle or similar migrations, strong RDBMS knowledge, SQL/Unix scripting, and a deep understanding of the Murex data model and database architecture.

Qualifications

• Proven delivery of similar Sybase→Oracle conversion projects at major Financial Institutions (≤140 chars)
• Strong expertise in RDBMS concepts including schema design, data migration, and performance tuning
• Hands-on experience with Sybase to Oracle (or similar) conversion projects
• Basic knowledge in SQL, Unix/Linux, and scripting (shell, perl, awk)
• Strong understanding of Murex data model, configuration structures, and database architecture
• Experience executing large-scale migration cycles including mock runs, reconciliation, and cutover
• Strong experience in defining and executing data reconciliation and validation frameworks

Responsibilities

Client is looking to partner with DXC Luxoft to support their Murex Sybase → Oracle migration

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the database conversion workstream end-to-end — not just execution, but planning, issue resolution, and delivery outcomes. DBA activities will include, but not limited to: Environment load(s) – Load optimizations – Environment maintenance – Environment upgrade(s) – Enabling new capacity for applications.

SKILLS

Must have
