Job summary

Dexian Government Solutions is seeking a Data Warehouse/DB Engineer to analyze, modify, document, and support the data warehousing and reporting system for government operations at DLIFLC Monterey.

You will lead data development lifecycle, design schemas, optimize SQL, and ensure security and regulatory compliance with federal guidelines, including after-hours maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree or 3 years related experience.
• 5 years experience designing and developing data warehouses.
• Proven track record implementing complex data warehouse projects.
• Experience with relational database design/modeling.
• Expert SQL coding in SQL Server and/or MySQL.
• ETL tools knowledge and data modeling concepts.
• Understanding of data analysis, business principles, and operations.
• IAT Level II Certification required to Start; NACLC Public Trust required.

Responsibilities

• Support data warehousing and reporting system development and maintenance.
• Design, implement, test, and sustain data models and ETL processes.
• Ensure security and compliance with government regulations.
• Plan and manage database servers and applications; assist after-hours maintenance.

Position Overview

The person in this position is responsible for performing analysis, modification, documentation, and support of daily operations for the data warehousing and reporting system.

Job Duties

• Responsibilities include supporting the data development/sustainment lifecycle, including data profiling, ETL and data model design and development/sustainment, testing, and support.
• The duties will include planning, installation, maintenance during or after-work hours, troubleshooting, and managing all Database Developer servers and applications.
• Achieves organizational goals by defining, integrating, and upgrading a comprehensive architecture to support applications, platforms, and databases.
• Maintains database by determining structural requirements and developing and installing solutions.
• Ensures security of all information and computer systems and digital data.
• Ensures adherence to government regulations and guidelines for technological systems and safeguarding of data.
• Defines infrastructure for design and integration of internet computing systems by analyzing information requirements, studying business operations and user-interface requirements, and directing development of physical database.
• Confirms architecture capability and flexibility to support high availability web applications by developing analytical models and completing validation tests.
• Determines platform architecture, technology, and tools.

Job Requirements

• Educational requirements include an AA/AS Degree in a related discipline from an accredited college or university or three years of related experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience designing and developing data warehouses
• Proven track record of successfully implementing complex data warehouse projects
• Experience with relational database design/modeling using tools.
• Expert-level SQL coding/querying skills in SQL Server and/or MySQL
• Proficient in SQL and advanced SQL query optimization techniques
• Expertise in data warehouse technologies like Snowflake, Redshift, or Teradata
• Knowledge of ETL tools and methodologies
• Familiarity with data modeling concepts (dimensional, star schema, snowflake schema)
• Understanding of data analysis, business principles, and operations
• Software architecture and design
• Network design and implementation
• Ability to clearly present technical information to fellow technical professionals as well as non-technical peers

Required To Start Qualifications

• IAT Level II Certification is required to Start (CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) Certification
• A NACLC Public Trust Clearance is required to Start.
