Intel's Foundry Automation (IFA) team seeks a Software Application Development Engineer to deliver innovative software solutions for highly automated fabs in collaboration with Fab Manufacturing and Engineering.

You will work at the intersection of software engineering and advanced manufacturing, gathering requirements, implementing releases, testing, and supporting operations in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE or related STEM with 3+ years of industry experience; OR a master’s or Ph.D. in a related field.
  • Preferred: Oracle Certification (OCA, OCP, or OCM).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal customers and partners to identify data and business needs and translate them into software solutions.
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Gather and document business and technical requirements from Fab Manufacturing and Engineering.
  • Execute implementation and testing of application and database software releases with quality and reliability.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and communicate project status, risks, and recommendations clearly.
  • Prioritize configuration changes in MES and manage development and continuous improvement projects.
  • Provide Tier 3 end-user technical support with a 24/7 on-call rotation and escalation for complex issues.
  • Co-develop software tools and streamline processes to drive efficiency and improvement.

Intel's Foundry Automation (IFA) team is hiring a Software Application Development Engineer

As part of our team, you will partner with end users in Fab Manufacturing and Engineering to deliver innovative solutions specially crafted for the ever-changing needs of our highly automated factories. To integrate these solutions, you will work closely with our Software Development teams and execute testing, implementation, troubleshooting and documentation of business processes.

You will work at the intersection of software engineering and advanced manufacturing, collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze business processes, gather requirements, implement software releases, and drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal customers and partners to identify emerging data and business needs, and translate those needs into effective software solutions
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes and procedures to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement
  • Gather and document business and technical requirements from stakeholders across Fab Manufacturing and Engineering
  • Execute the implementation and testing of application and database software releases, ensuring quality and reliability
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and communicate project status, risks, and recommendations clearly and effectively
  • Prioritize configuration changes in manufacturing execution systems (MES) and manage projects that support development and continuous improvement
  • Provide Tier 3 (advanced) end-user technical support by participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation, serving as the escalation point for complex manufacturing system issues
  • Co-develop software tools and streamlined business processes that drive operational efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Adapt and reprioritize work based on the changing needs of the factory environment

Qualifications
