Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking a Database Analyst to join our Ellsworth AFB, SD team, supporting data entry, definitions, validation, and security controls. The role emphasizes complex data tasks and clear communication of technical findings.

Ideal candidates will have relevant DBA/analyst experience, SQL scripting, and BI reporting with Tableau/Power BI, plus readiness for a flexible, on-call schedule. Clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma/GED and 6 years of relevant Database Administrator/Analyst experience
• or an Associate’s Degree and 4 years of relevant Database Administrator/Analyst experience
• or a Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of Database Administrator/Analyst experience
• or a Master’s Degree
• Ability to obtain and maintain final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance
• Current CompTIA Security Plus (or higher) certification
• Experience developing and scripting using SQL or other query languages
• Experience generating visual reports in Tableau or Power BI
• Experience with backups of large databases and transaction logs
• Experience with STIG and database security controls
• Able to communicate technical concepts in plain language
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds
• Willingness to work flexible hours including extended shifts, holidays, weekends, and on-call status

Responsibilities

• Perform data entry and/or database management operations in support of programs or products
• Control data definitions within established data standards for existing applications
• Perform regular data validation
• Maintain database specifications by initiating or responding to database change requests
• Update and maintain database records and tables as required
• Monitor and audit database operations
• Verify database security and integrity controls
• Demonstrate the skill and ability to perform complex tasks
• Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings
• Resolve routine questions and problems and elevate more complex problems
• Ensure solutions are consistent with organization objectives
