Job summary

Synergy ECP is seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA to support applications across on‑prem and cloud environments. The role focuses on patching, backups, restores, and performance tuning within a small, dedicated team.

You will manage SQL Server processes, run daily reviews of logs, and automate tasks to improve reliability and efficiency. The ideal candidate has deep MS SQL Server expertise, Windows Server skills, and DoD 8570 IAT1 readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline required.
• 10 years DBA experience in similar scope; 4 years may substitute for degree.
• Hands-on with MS SQL Server, backups, restores, and clustering; DoD 8570 IAT1 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain MS SQL Server databases across networks.
• Patch, update, and automate DBA processes; document procedures.
• Perform database backup, verification, and restore operations.
• Review Windows and SQL Server logs daily; support security tasks.
• Create and manage SQL Server Agent jobs; ensure failover readiness.

What You Will Be Doing

Synergy is seeking an experienced DBA to work in an environment supporting multiple applications that rely upon Microsoft SQL Server as their backend database. Looking for a self‑motivated individual that wants to learn new skills as well as contribute to the growth and maturity of the processes used to support and maintain databases by a small, talented, and hardworking database administration team. This team creates, maintains, and troubleshoots Microsoft SQL Server databases on multiple networks using multiple architectures. The environment consists of databases hosted both in on‑premise datacenters and in cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience creating, maintaining, patching and troubleshooting issues related to Microsoft SQL Server databases, knowledge of AWS Cloud technologies, works well in a small team setting, has a desire to automate processes where possible, and a willingness to think outside the box to find solutions.

Requirements

This position Requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university and ten (10) years of experience as a DBA in program and contracts of similar scope, type, complexity. Four (4) years of additional DBA experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree.
