Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support mission-critical Red LAN applications and data services in a federal contractor environment. The role involves administering diverse database systems, performance tuning, and ensuring data security and integrity at multiple sites.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree, 5–7 years of related work experience, U.S. citizenship, and an active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Administers and sustains mission-data and database services supporting Red LAN applications, data storage, data integrity, access controls, backups, performance, and recovery.
• Supports schema/data validation, structured-data handling, data transformation, and interface dependencies for Bifrost, customer additions, and other approved mission-data changes; conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general.
• Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
• Maintains security and integrity controls.
• Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization.
• May develop stored procedures and/or triggers.
• Administers a variety of database systems.
• Develops and enforces database administration and user standards and procedures; audits, modifies, and amends data in systems using SQL commands.
• Oversees the scheduling of database projects, database and transaction log backups, notifications, and database replication between multiple SQL Servers and remote sites.
• Reviews technical designs, reports, documentation, and other materials produced by staff; creates and maintains high-level reporting systems; researches and implements new database and online technology.

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $115,000.00/Yr. - USD $150,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
