Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a database administrator to sustain mission-critical data services for Red LAN applications. You will manage data integrity, storage, access controls, and backups, and perform performance tuning across SQL Server and other DB platforms.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, 5–7 years of related work, U.S. citizenship, and an active TS/SCI clearance with DoD 8140 qualifications. On-site work is expected with comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Administers and sustains mission-data and database services supporting Red LAN applications, data storage, data integrity, access controls, backups, performance, and recovery.
• Supports schema/data validation, structured-data handling, data transformation, and interface dependencies for Bifrost, customer additions, and other approved mission-data changes. Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general.
• Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
• Maintains security and integrity controls.
• Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization.
• May develop stored procedures and/or triggers.
• Administers a variety of database systems.
• Develops and enforces database administration and user standards and procedures; audits, modifies, and amends data in systems using SQL commands.
• Oversees the scheduling of database projects, database and transaction log backups, notifications, and database replication between multiple SQL Servers and remote sites.
• Reviews technical designs, reports, documentation, and other materials produced by staff; creates and maintains high-level reporting systems; researches and implements new database and online technology.

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $115,000.00/Yr. - USD $150,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
