Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field and three (3) years of specific professional work experience in database administration or design.
• Preferred Requirements - Master’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field and four (4) years of directly related professional database experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy and completeness of data in master files, dictionaries, and support tools.
• Establish and maintain database security and integrity controls.
• Formulate and monitor policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management.
• Install, configure, and maintain the performance of database servers.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors and performance issues.
• Set and maintain database standards and documentation.
• Manage database user accounts and access permissions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and remediate failed database backup jobs.
• Work with developers to diagnose and resolve database‑related issues.
• Provide backend database support for operational systems used by law enforcement, fire, corrections, emergency communications, and oversight agencies.
• Ensure continuous availability and performance of databases supporting incident‑driven workflows and time‑critical public safety activities.
• Validate data and maintain consistency across interconnected systems and integrations supporting PSJ operations.
• Troubleshoot backend issues involving system integrations, data flows, and multi‑vendor components.
• Implement secure data access, auditing, and controls aligned with regulations governing criminal justice and emergency response information.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve database or integration issues.
• Maintain situational awareness of database/system health and proactively identify risks that could impact public safety operations or inter‑agency coordination.
