Job summary

Radiant Digital Solutions Inc. seeks a Database Administrator 2 in Austin, TX for a 10-month engagement. You will enter, code, and create production databases, monitor performance, and guide developers on DBMS changes.

You will optimize programs, support end-users, model data structures, implement security and disaster recovery, and work with ETL tools and data warehousing concepts. Preferred Oracle DB and Power BI experience is a plus.

Job Summary

• Enter, code, and create production databases; monitor database performance and memory allocation.
• Direct and guide programmers/analysts in making changes to database management systems.
• Review, correct, and optimize database programs, including performance tuning.
• Answer user questions and support database end-users.
• Evaluate and incorporate new data elements and systems based on user requests.
• Assist with planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of integrated database systems.
• Ensure new application design aligns with database structural parameters.
• Coordinate data usage to maintain integrity and control redundancy; load and reorganize databases as necessary.
• Perform logical and physical data modeling, including design and creation of relational and physical database models.
• Execute security and recovery procedures for the database environment.
• Determine and implement database search strategies and storage requirements.
• Maintain and standardize data dictionaries and ensure uniform database definitions.
• Monitor database performance and recommend efficiency improvements.
• Create test database environments, including necessary libraries and procedures.
• Execute database backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Assist with installation, analysis, and implementation of database software.
• Participate in benchmarking and threshold testing; help establish database security standards.
• Provide technical assistance on database management software selection.
• Ensure user interfaces and reporting tools comply with EIR Accessibility standards.
• Support users when accessibility issues arise.
• Collaborate with coworkers to assess impact and cost of database changes.
• Demonstrate strong analytical, communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Work with data warehousing concepts, data modeling (Star, Snowflake, normalized), and ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, DataStage).
• Implement enterprise-class databases (e.g., Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server) and analytical/reporting tools (e.g., Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion, MicroStrategy).
• Manage data warehouse implementations from requirements gathering to data loading and performance tuning.
• Preferred experience with Oracle Database and Power BI report creation.
