Job summary

CACI International is seeking a Database Administrator to support NASA AAO applications. You will administer databases across SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL and MySQL, ensuring availability, security and performance in a fast-paced environment.

Join a collaborative team and contribute to enterprise modernization efforts. You will gain exposure to diverse platforms and play a critical role in provisioning, backup, DR/HA planning, and scripting automation using PowerShell and related tools.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL or PostgreSQL databases in single instance or clustered configurations.
  • Experience configuring MS SQL Availability Groups (AGs), Distributed Availability Groups (DAGs), Oracle Data Guard, and MySQL master-slave replication.
  • Demonstrated experience using Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, MS T-SQL.
  • Experience with client tools such as Oracle SQL Developer, TOAD, MS SQL Workbench, SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
  • Knowledgeable in configuring Oracle Net Services.
  • Experience in client/server applications design and development is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Oracle RMAN, DataPump, and Data Guard.
  • Experience with Red Hat Linux and MS Windows Operating Systems on VMware.
  • Understanding of database consolidation and virtualization concepts and best practices.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a NASA Public Trust background investigation.

  • Understanding of ANSI Standard SQL constructs for Database Administration.
  • Experience installing, configuring, upgrading, migrating, provisioning, securing, patching, backing up and recovery of enterprise database systems.
  • Conceptual knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) database architectures.
  • Good understanding of networking concepts and principles in a client/server database environment.
  • Experience in Unix, PowerShell or other scripting language.
  • Must have good communication, presentation, documentation and organizational skills.
  • Effectively works in a team environment with other DBAs to troubleshoot and resolve complex database problems; demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Schedule flexibility is required to support on-call DBA rotation and the ability to respond to trouble tickets within time required by SLAs.

The Opportunity

CACI's Agile Digital Solutions Operating Group is expanding and seeks a Database Administrator to help modernize and transform a broad portfolio of enterprise business solutions for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

In this role, you will join a collaborative team where strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication are essential for success.

You will work with diverse platforms, applications, and infrastructure that span the entire Agency, engaging with both Enterprise Applications stakeholders and end-user communities.

The Database Administrator will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of database systems implemented in support of AAO applications.

The AAO database infrastructure consists of Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL and MySQL platforms.

  • Experience working in VMware ESXi environments.
  • Experience with network storage (SAN/NAS).

Level 2
  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience (equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree).
  • 4-6 years Database Administrator experience.
  • Automation using Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript, or batch files.
  • Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs.
  • Experience working in VMware ESXi environments.
  • Experience with network storage (SAN/NAS).
  • Experience with enterprise backup solutions.
Level 3
  • Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience (equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree).
  • 6-8 years Database Administrator experience.
  • Automation using Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript, or batch files.
  • Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs.
  • Experience working in VMware ESXi environments.
  • Experience with network storage (SAN/NAS).
  • Experience with enterprise backup solutions.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$90,300-$189,600
