Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the phased migration of SQL Server.
• Perform comprehensive installation and configuration of SQL Server instances, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural standards.
• Conduct proactive database tuning and optimization to maintain peak health, performance, and stability for high-volume transactional systems.
• Execute robust data migration processes ensuring data consistency and integrity throughout the transition.
• Continuously review ongoing database changes, performing impact analysis to prevent disruptions and ensure operational continuity.
• Provide essential production support, demonstrating flexibility in working hours to address critical database incidents and ensure high availability.
• Collaborate closely with development and operations teams to support ongoing database needs and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator.
• Migration Expertise: Proven experience with SQL Server database migrations, ideally across different infrastructure platforms.
• Performance Tuning: Strong knowledge and practical experience in SQL Server performance tuning and optimization.
• Data Handling: Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain databases handling large amounts of data and high transaction volumes.
• Production Support: Willingness and availability to provide flexible production support, including outside of standard business hours when necessary.
• Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have): Experience with OpenShift containers.
• Proficiency in Linux Server environments
