• Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and YugabyteDB environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide production and lower-environment database support and act as incident contact.
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate escalation.
• Manage database operations: startups/shutdowns, restarts, failovers, switchovers.
• Monitor availability, alerts, health checks, and infrastructure issues.
• Perform performance analysis using AWR/ASH, explain plans, and lock analysis.
• Support backups, recovery, Data Guard, and replication across platforms.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to support production and lower environments across a diverse database technology landscape.
The role involves database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, high availability, replication, disaster recovery, cloud database operations, monitoring, automation, security, and production incident management.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working across multiple database platforms and collaborating with application, infrastructure, development, cloud, and DBA teams to maintain reliable and highly available database environments.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide production and lower-environment database support and serve as a point of contact for database incidents.
• Troubleshoot database incidents, restore services, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate escalation when required.
• Manage database:
  • Startups and shutdowns
  • Restarts
  • Instance failovers
  • Switchovers
  • Parameter changes
  • Pre- and post-maintenance validations
• Monitor database availability, alert logs, OEM alerts, health checks, and infrastructure-related issues.
• Perform root cause analysis for critical and high-severity database incidents.
• Troubleshoot database and SQL performance using AWR, ASH, explain plans, locks, deadlocks, blocking sessions, and long-running session analysis.
• Manage database, tablespace, ASM, archive log, backup, Oracle Home, and operating-system filesystem capacity.
• Forecast storage requirements and coordinate storage expansion when needed.
• Perform proactive and ad-hoc database backups and recovery activities.
• Support:

  • Standby Database Rebuilds
• Support operating system and database patching, upgrades, migrations, server reboots, and application/database maintenance activities.
• Schedule and maintain database and backup jobs using Oracle Enterprise Manager and CRON.
• Configure monitoring thresholds, alerts, reports, and Grafana dashboards.
• Administer database users, profiles, roles, privileges, schemas, DBA IDs, and application access.
• Support required database access for application and RFC execution activities.
• Maintain database security, audit configurations, encryption, TDE, and object validity checks.
• Monitor and support Data Guard, GoldenGate, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and YugabyteDB replication.
• Troubleshoot replication lag and support disaster recovery activities, switchovers, and failovers.
• Perform database export/import, data truncation, and application-requested database activities in accordance with established change controls.
• Develop automation and self-service solutions to improve database administration and operational efficiency.
• Use scripting and automation to streamline repetitive DBA processes.
• Support database operations across AWS, Azure, and Eligible to workP environments.
• Work with application, infrastructure, development, cloud, and DBA teams to resolve database and infrastructure issues.
• Raise and coordinate vendor support cases for DBMS software-related issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and database standards.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, standardization, automation, and operational efficiency.
• Support the adEligible to workion of modern database technologies, cloud capabilities, automation, and AI-enabled operational tools.
