Responsibilities

• Administer PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases
• Automate routine database maintenance activities using scripting languages
• Tune database performance across OLTP and Data Warehouse environments
• Implement and manage backup and recovery processes
• Deploy and maintain high-availability database solutions
• Support cloud database migration and administration
• Troubleshoot database performance issues independently and in collaboration with multiple teams
• Provide guidance on database best practices and efficiency improvements

Qualifications

• Required
• PostgreSQL database administration experience, preferably with EDB
• SQL Server database administration experience
• Proficiency with scripting languages such as BASH, KSH, PowerShell, Python, or Perl
• Experience automating routine database maintenance activities
• Experience working in Microsoft Windows Server and/or Unix environments
• Database performance tuning experience across OLTP and Data Warehouse environments
• Proficiency with backup and recovery software and concepts
• Experience with high-availability database solutions
• Experience with cloud database migration and administration
• Ability to independently troubleshoot database performance issues while collaborating across multiple teams
• Ability to provide guidance on database best practices and efficiency improvements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
