Job summary

Vitol is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to drive deployment of CTRM and analytics applications and to design a highly available database environment. You will handle installation, upgrades, patching, backup/recovery, and performance tuning across Linux/Unix hosting environments.

The role requires 5 years of Oracle DBA experience, with hands-on work in Data Guard, OEM, RMAN, and multitenant architecture (PDB/CDB) in 18c/19c/21c, ensuring secure, reliable production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or related field; 5 years of Oracle DBA experience.
• During the course of database administration, perform installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, backup and recovery, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• 3 years of experience including Oracle Data Guard, OEM, RMAN, and multitenant architecture (PDB/CDB) in Oracle 18c/19c/21c environments.
• Experience with Linux/Unix hosting environments, server administration, storage, patching, and performance tuning.
• Deploying and supporting Oracle databases and Oracle middleware products, including Oracle Forms and Reports.

Responsible for the deployment of new releases of in-house CTRM and Analytics applications. Will be responsible for developing the Database environment with respect to data replication/synchronization solutions, hardware environment, databases schema definition, and design to ensure high availability, stability, and reliability of the main CTRM and analytics applications used within Vitol Group worldwide.

Ensure deployment and support of Oracle middleware products and Unix Database environment (Servers and Storages), Oracle Unix Servers / Storage, OS Solaris 11, and NetApp Storage. Monitor databases and proprietary applications, including Oracle 18c / 19c / 21c; work with Data Guard, Pdb-Cdb, RMAN, and performances tools. Perform maintenance (i.e. upgrade, patching, installation) on software and hardware.

Manage and perform ad hoc projects. Support and interact in a worldwide context with infrastructure, security, network, and application teams. Resolve requests from users.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field and 5 years of experience as an Oracle database administrator.

5 years of experience to include:

In the course of database administration, perform installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, backup and recovery, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting;

Using SQL and PL/SQL to troubleshoot issues, review code design, and tune SQL queries;

Managing database security, user access, and database objects, and supporting day-to-day production database operations.

3 years of experience to include:

Supporting Oracle enterprise products, including Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Recovery Manager (RMAN), and multitenant architecture (PDB/CDB) in Oracle

18c, 19c, and 21c environments;

Supporting Linux and Unix-based Oracle hosting environments in standalone, clustered, and high-availability configurations, including server administration, storage, patching, and performance tuning;

Deploying and supporting Oracle databases and Oracle middleware products, including Oracle Forms and Reports Application Server;

Supporting and administering PostgreSQL, MySQL or other similar relational database environments;

Supporting HPE infrastructure;

Configuring and supporting Oracle Unified Directory;

Monitoring and managing databases and Unix infrastructure in a worldwide environment; and

Supporting infrastructure, security, network, and application teams in a global environment.
