Job summary

Choisys-Technology is seeking a Database Administrator to manage SQL Server databases in a secure DoD enclave. You will ensure data integrity, high availability, and support complex data exports for enterprise migrations.

Responsibilities include full SQL Server lifecycle admin, patching, backups, and ISCP maintenance. Requires active Secret clearance, IT-I/II eligibility, and a bachelor’s in IT/CS or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Active DoD 8570.01-M / 8140.01 IAT II baseline certification required for IT/IA access.
• Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in secure enclave environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-lifecycle Microsoft SQL Server administration for development, testing, and production environments in an IL-4 enclave.
• Serve as liaison with PMO, developers, data center teams, and ISSOs to ensure database performance and backups.
• Apply required IAVMs and patches to maintain enclave compliance and security stance.
• Design logical and physical database architectures using data modeling techniques.
• Support data integration testing and implement schema changes through approved workflows.
• Design and maintain ISCP and serve as Tier III lead for outages impacting global users.
• Perform data modeling, validation, and export operations for legacy decommissioning and new integrations.

Job Description: Our MPJV, CVTEK, is seeking a Database Administrator to manage the administration of computerized databases within a secure DoD enclave. You will ensure optimal database design, sustained data integrity, and high availability while orchestrating complex data exports required for a strategic enterprise migration. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide full-lifecycle Microsoft SQL Server administration for development, testing, and production environments operating in an Impact Level 4 (IL-4) security enclave.


• Serve as the primary liaison between the PMO, developers, data center teams, and Information Systems Security Officers (ISSOs) to ensure optimal relational database performance, routine maintenance, and backups.


• Apply required IAVMs and software patches to maintain a clean security stance and ensure enclave compliance.


• Evaluate business requirements and workflows, applying data modeling techniques to design logical and physical database architectures.


• Support data integration testing, generate database rollback plans for CCB release packages, and implement schema changes through approved workflows.


• Design and maintain the Information Systems Contingency Plan (ISCP) and serve as the Tier III lead for troubleshooting database-related outages impacting global users.


• Perform comprehensive data modeling, validation, and export operations. Execute data staging and cleanup to facilitate legacy module decommissioning and integration into new enterprise systems.


• Provide sustainment support to co-located databases (e.g., DTMS) within the infrastructure, and contribute database metrics and documentation to overarching project management and training efforts.

• Location: Primary performance at the Contractor Site, with requirements to support classified/unclassified work at Government locations (Ft. Meade, MD).


• Security Clearance: Must possess an active Secret security clearance. This position requires IT-I and IT-II eligibility for SIPRNet/administrative access and the ability to successfully pass enterprise-level background suitability screening. U.S. Citizenship is required.


• Experience: Demonstrated professional experience in a relevant database engineering mission area.


• Degree Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (equivalent professional experience may be considered).


• Certifications: DoD 8570.01-M / 8140.01 compliant IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE, or equivalent) for IT/IA access required.
