What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage the day‑to‑day operation, maintenance, and performance tuning of on‑prem SQL Server instances and databases
- Install, configure, and patch SQL Server environments, including managing SQL Server Agent jobs
- Maintain backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability
- Administer SQL Server security, managing logins, users, roles, and permissions
- Diagnose and resolve database‑related issues, providing support to application teams and vendors
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or GED
- 1‑3 years of experience in Information Technology
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
- Capability to work independently on routine database administration tasks
- Experience with SQL Server environments and troubleshooting database issues
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field
- 3 to 5+ years of experience in SQL Server Database Administration
- Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Experience with scripting languages such as T‑SQL, Python, and/or PowerShell
- Knowledge of cloud database concepts, particularly Google Cloud SQL, Postgres, and MySQL
