Job summary

Oklahoma Farm Bureau Insurance Company in Oklahoma City is seeking a Database Developer to design, build, and optimize data storage systems. You will write complex SQL queries, design schemas, tune performance, and manage data migrations to support business needs.

You will work with SQL Server, MySQL, and cloud data sources, collaborating with IS teams to implement warehousing and reporting solutions using Power BI and Pyramid.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in computer science or related field.
• Extensive knowledge of IT concepts and IT documentation.
• Proven experience as an ETL developer.
• Strong SQL skills with SQL Server, SSRS/SSIS, and MySQL.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and data modelling.
• Familiarity with data sources (ODBC, Excel, text, XML) and cloud platforms (Snowflake, Aurora).

Responsibilities

• Design and code data warehousing systems to meet end-user specs.
• Test warehousing environments prior to data extraction.
• Ensure data quality and accuracy across pipelines.
• Extract and transfer data into the warehousing environment.
• Follow lifecycle methodologies and create design docs and tests.
• Develop tests, test plans, and data for validation of programs.
• Resolve technical issues through debugging and investigation.
• Analyze complex system functions to improve efficiency.
• Document programs with diagrams and flowcharts; maintain documentation.
• Review coding and documentation; ensure proper project artifacts.
