Overview

We are seeking a Data Warehouse Engineer to join our team and work closely with clients to develop, optimize, and scale enterprise-grade data platforms, warehouses, and pipelines. We are looking for more than just a “Data Warehouse Engineer,” but a highly skilled data technologist with strong communication and problem-solving abilities who thrives in cloud-based environments.

Contributions

Key Responsibilities:

1. Help develop the migration of data environments with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.
2. Ability to examine and understand complex data pipelines.
3. Assess, document, and analyze data sources, ETL workflows, and business intelligence tools.
4. Address technical inquiries related to data warehouse customization, integration, and enterprise architecture.
5. Develop and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes to support business intelligence and analytics.
6. Design and enforce data governance strategies, ensuring high data quality and compliance.
7. Work in an Agile development environment, collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders.
8. Contribute to the growth of our Data Exploitation Practice by implementing cutting-edge data warehousing solutions.

Qualifications

Required:

1. Ability to hold a position of public trust with the US government.
2. 3-5+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or data architecture.
3. Knowledge of Python or other object-oriented languages is a plus.
4. Experience designing and implementing data governance strategies.

Preferred:

1. Strong knowledge of SQL and database optimization techniques (Preferably SQL Server. Alternatively, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle).
2. Experience with Databricks, PySpark, SparkSQL is a plus.
3. Experience with SSIS or ADF.
4. Experience creating entity-relationship diagrams.
5. Ability to work in a DevSecOps environment, applying CI/CD best practices.
6. DBA or server patching experience is a plus.
7. Experience designing and implementing data governance strategies.

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $125,000 to $160,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
