Job summary

Corning's Data Warehouse & BI team seeks a Data Warehouse & BI Engineer to design, develop, and deliver data warehouse, reporting, and analytics solutions across manufacturing and enterprise systems.

You will work across business and technology teams to translate complex requirements into scalable, reliable, and high-value data solutions, building SQL/T‑SQL code, ETL pipelines, and BI dashboards while ensuring SDLC compliance and maintainability.

Qualifications

  • 7 years designing, developing, and supporting Data Warehouse and BI solutions.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft BI technologies (SQL Server, SSRS/SSIS/SSAS).
  • Proficient in T-SQL development, stored procedures, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Experience building data warehousing, ETL, and end-user reporting (Power BI).
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end data warehouse, reporting, and analytics delivery including requirements, design, development, testing, and support.
  • Build and maintain data warehouse and BI solutions supporting manufacturing and enterprise priorities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define solutions and deliver data/reporting capabilities.
  • Develop T-SQL procedures and ETL scripts for data integration and reporting needs.
  • Design, build, and maintain ETL processes pulling data from MES and other systems.
  • Troubleshoot data issues, stored procedures, and reports (SSRS/Power BI).

Role Summary

The Data Warehouse & BI Engineersupports Corning’s manufacturing environment by leading the design, development, and delivery of data warehouse, reporting, and analytics solutions that drive operational visibility and business decision-making. This role is responsible for the full solution lifecycle, including requirements gathering, architecture and design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.

This is a hands‑on role for a technically strong professional who can work across business and technology teams to translate complex requirements into scalable, reliable, and high‑value solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in data warehousing, SQL development, ETL, and reporting, along with a passion for building data solutions that support manufacturing operations, improve performance, and enable informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to‑end delivery of data warehouse, reporting, and analytics solutions, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, implementation, and support.
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality data warehouse and business intelligence solutions that support manufacturing and enterprise priorities.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to understand requirements, define solution approaches, and deliver impactful data and reporting capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain T‑SQL procedures, functions, queries, and scripts to support data integration, reporting, and analytics needs.
  • Design, build, and support ETL processes for the intake and transformation of data from manufacturing and other enterprise systems.
  • Research, analyze, and troubleshoot data issues, stored procedures, and associated SSRS or Power BI reports.
  • Collaborate with the DBA team to assess server health, database performance, and query optimization opportunities; recommend and implement improvements such as indexing and query tuning.
  • Develop and support data migration procedures and scripts as needed for project and operational initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and ongoing evolution of data warehouse architecture, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with best practices.
  • Ensure data warehouse and analytics code is maintained in version control and developed in accordance with SDLC standards.
  • Support operationally critical work and project timelines, including flexibility to work hours needed for global support when required.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 7 years of experience designing, developing, and supporting Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions.
  • 7 years of experience with Microsoft BI technologies, includingSQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.
  • Strong experience withT‑SQLdevelopment, including stored procedures, functions, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Experience developing data warehouse, ETL, and end-user reporting solutions, includingPower BIor similar dashboard/reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience usingAgileproject methodologies.
  • Experience supportingmanufacturing or factory floor systems and processes using tools such as Camstar, Siemens Opcenteror other Manufacturing Execution Systems such asMES, CMMS, SPC, and OSI PI, including knowledge of their underlying data models.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices indata warehousing, business intelligence architecture, and analytics delivery.
  • Experience working with relational databases inMicrosoft SQL Server.
  • Experience usingMS Team Foundation Server (TFS), GitLab, or similar source control platforms.
  • Understandingofcubesand complex reporting or information models.
  • Clear understandingofOLTP and OLAPsystems.
  • Experience supporting analytics or reporting solutions in a regulated or operationally sensitive environment.

The range for this position is $110,133.00-$151,433.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
