AtZenfreed in Lansing, MI is seeking a Data Warehouse Engineer to own complex batch frameworks, ETL workflows, and data security. You will oversee change management, promotions, performance monitoring, and data quality across enterprise systems.

This hybrid role requires US work authorization, willingness to relocate on day one, and strong English communication. You will participate in audits, DR planning, and vendor collaboration while maintaining comprehensive documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data warehousing or ETL engineering
• Strong English communication, able to translate technical concepts for stakeholders
• Experience with cloud-based BI tools (preferred)

• Manage Data Warehouse change management infrastructure and code promotions
• Ensure Linux security model on DW ETL servers and manage access controls
• Handle Teradata security and access
• Conduct data architecture reviews and maintain documentation
• Support data integration pipelines and ETL workflows across systems
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform data quality rules
• Lead disaster recovery and backup strategy development
• Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers as needed
• Participate in elevated access reviews and audit remediation

Job Duties

• Responsible for complex Common Batch Framework and Common Scheduler to ensure current and reliable data is available for critical business processes and decision making.
  
• Responsible for Data Warehouse change management infrastructure and all promotions of code and ddl; performing build engineer tasks for both manual and automated promotion processes.
  
• Responsibility for complex Linux security model on DW ETL servers. (Servers are administered by another group, but our team is responsible for the security structure and authorizes user access to the groups and sudos)
  
• Responsibility for Teradata security and access.
  
• Conduct data architecture reviews and audits to ensure alignment with enterprise standards
  
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, processes, and solutions
  
• Responsible for providing support for escalated Data Warehouse issue troubleshooting and resolution.
  
• Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools to improve performance and scalability
  
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and effective use of enterprise data assets
  
• Manage and support data integration processes, including ETL workflows across multiple systems
  
• Collaborate with external vendors and third-party service providers as needed
  
• Support patch management, system upgrades, and ongoing system maintenance
  
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues across data platforms
  
• Perform data profiling and implement data quality rules for assessment and validation
  
• Execute data cleansing and standardization using both built-in and custom data rules
  
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies for data systems
  
• Lead efforts to migrate data warehouse processes to standardized/common frameworks
  
• Conduct elevated access reviews and user audits to ensure compliance
  
• Identify and remediate audit findings related to data systems and security
  

Requirements

3+ years:

Strong communication skills in English with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Candidates who cannot communicate effectively in English will not be considered.(EXTREMELY IMPORTANT)

Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Must be able to work independently when needed.

Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills, particularly in troubleshooting complex data and system issues

Experience with cloud-based BI tools

Desired Skills

2 years:

Previous government experience or State of Michigan experience

Experience supporting the loading of data from multiple source systems

Ability to provide targeted training and technical guidance to development teams for troubleshooting and batch support

Strong decision-making skills with the ability to determine appropriate solutions while adhering to SoM and MDHHS/DTMB policies

Location

• Open to candidates local to the Lansing, Michigan area or those willing to relocate from DAY ONE at their OWN EXPENSE (non-negotiable). Candidates that relocate MUST still come on-site for the in-person interview. Candidates MUST meet all these requirements from the beginning.
  
• Positionis a hybrid schedule within office 2 days a week upon start. Wednesdays and Thursdays are required on-site days and cannot be altered
  
• Working hoursMonday-Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m. to5:00 p.m. (flexiblescheduling is possible)
