Job summary

Marsh is seeking a hands-on Technical Lead, Data to guide a delivery squad of data engineers and contribute technically by building pipelines and data models. You will mentor engineers, set quality standards, and ensure deliverables align with business objectives.

The role blends leadership with hands-on coding and architecture efforts. You will work across Databricks on AWS/Azure, applying medallion architecture, data quality checks, and lineage practices while collaborating with Engagement

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on data engineering experience, with some time leading engineers.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and Spark, used recently and regularly.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Databricks strongly preferred; Snowflake, Synapse, or similar accepted).
• Experience leading a mixed team of employees and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead a delivery squad of 4-8 data engineers, set technical direction and decompose work.
• Build pipelines, write code, debug production issues using SQL, Python, Spark.
• Design data models, medallion architectures, ingestion contracts, and reusable patterns.
• Engage with Engagement Leads and business stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions.
• Drive engineering standards: CI/CD, version control, testing, infrastructure-as-code.
